General Information

Weisdale Voe on the southern edge of the village of Weisdale, a popular rural location on Shetland's sunny Westside, the village benefitting from an easy commute to Lerwick just 11 miles away, as well as Brae & Sullom Voe to the north as the main road north can be joined by continuing northwards from the house and taking the Kergord road at the head of Weisdale Voe.

There are a couple of local shops in the area including Robinson & Morrisons shop at Weisdale just over ½ mile from the house, where there is a post office and petrol station, plus Anderson's grocers & butchers about 1½ miles back towards Lerwick. The local primary school is situated less than a mile from the house at Whiteness, also the location of the public hall, youth club, snooker club, football pitch / club and the Yoal rowing club. Finally to the north is a gallery & café at Weisdale Mill.

The main Westside bus route to Lerwick runs past the house.

'Fjorin' is of cavity blockwork construction below a 'Decra' metal tiled roof. All the windows and the main entrance door, with the exception of the sun room, have been placed with new uPVC double glazed units in recent years. An oil-fired 'combi' boiler in a cupboard off the porch / utility area supplies central heating radiators throughout the house and also hot water.

Internally period stripped pine doors have been fitted adding a characterful touch to the interior, the pitch pine door and surround to the living room having been salvaged from the Baptist Church in Lerwick.

All fixed floor coverings and light fittings will be included in the sale.
