'Fiska' was completed in 2008, one of a pair of similar environmentally friendly detached houses designed to maximise the stunning views. The design of the house is based on the style of a traditional long house with the use of white render, stained weather boarding and galvanized profile metal sheeting for the external finishes reflecting the Shetland setting. Internally the very contemporary layout with an open-plan layout to the living / dining and kitchen areas, is ideally suited to modern day living.
Central heating is provided by underfloor heating supplied by a 'Nibe' exhaust heat pump, the system also providing constant hot water.

Entrance Hallway & Utility Room
Entry to the property is via a front door with porthole feature window and full-height side panel, which opens to a painted wood-lined hallway, a bright space thanks to a full-height window at the far end. To reach the house drive to Skellister Stores at South Nesting and follow the road around to Billister and North Nesting to the left. Pass two small lochs, one on each side of the road, and the junction to Skellister and the South Nesting Hall, and continue alongside the voe. Just over ½ mile past the junction is a track to the right leading to two similar modern detached houses immediately opposite a small cottage with two grass roofed outbuildings on the left; Fiska being the second house in.
